Bernat Satin Hooded Scarf
You can basically make this scarf any length that you want by increasing the number of repeats. And the hood can also be adjusted by the number of repeats as well as by the number of stitches that are worked into the side of the scarf.
I used Bernat Satin yarn, but due to the nature of the pattern, you can basically use any type of yarn that you have on hand.
Material: Bernat Satin Yarn (approximately 300g)
Hook size: H/8-5.00mm
Gauge: Approximately 2" over 6 rows, and 5.5" across 20 esc.
Finished size: Adult small. Scarf length is 65", width is 5.5". Hood when folded measures 12" high and 8.5 inches wide on each side.
Skill Level: Beginner
Ch = Chain
Esc = Extended Single Crochet
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
To make the esc: Insert hook in stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
Row 1: Ch 21, esc in 2nd chain from hook, and in each chain across. Turn.
Row 2-200: Ch 1, esc in each st across. Turn.
Hood
Fold scarf in half in order to find and mark the center stitch. Then count 30 stitches on right side of center stitch and join yarn with a slip stitch or knot.
Note: For a larger hood, simply increase the number of sts across, as well as the number of rows. And for a smaller size simply reduce the number. Also, remember that if you're making a larger size you will need more yarn.
Row 1: Ch 1, esc in end of first row and in next 59 rows. Turn. (60 sts)
Row 2-40: Ch 1, esc in each st across. Turn.
Fold hood in half and join the last row together with slip stitches to form hood.
