Working Lengthwise:

Ch 6,

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 1, (working in back loops only), sc in each st across. Turn.

Repeat row 2 until it is long enough to fit around leg, and is a multiple of 4. Join last row with sl sts to back loops of first row.

Working in Rounds

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around, making sure you end up with a multiple of 4. Join with sl st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, and in next st, picot, *sc in next 4 sts, picot, repeat from * around to last 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts. Join with sl st.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 5, sk next sc, sk picot and next sc,** sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to last st, ending at **, sc in last st. Join with sl st.

Rnd 4: Ch 4, (counts as first tr), *(sc, picot, sc) in ch-5 lp,** tr in next 2 sc, repeat from * to last st ending at **, tr in last st. Join with sl st.

Repeat rnds 3 & 4 until you have reached about 2 inches from desired length. Then Repeat rnd 3 once.

Next Rnd: Ch 4, (counts as first tr), 2 sc in ch-5 lp, *tr in next 2 sc, 2 sc in ch-5 lp. Repeat from * around, tr in last st, join with sl st. Fasten off.

Last Rnd: Ch 1, sc around, join with sl st.

Working lengthwise

Row 1: Ch 6, sc in second ch from hook, and in next 4 chs, sl st in corresponding st of the last rnd and in the next st. Turn.

Row 2: (Working in back loops only), sc in 5 sc lengthwise. Turn.

Row 3: (Working in back loops only), ch 1, sc in each sc, sl st in corresponding st of last rnd and in next st. Turn.

Repeat row 2, and row 3 until you have worked your way around the legwarmer. Join the back loops with free loops of first 5 ch with sl sts. Fasten off.
