Those of you who have followed me for a while know that I enjoy taking a favorite stitch and play around with it until the cows come home. Well the bead stitch has been my latest victim. What can I say, except that I lack imagination sometimes. The good news though is that I've already gotten a few compliments on these, so I must have done something right. :)

I discovered the stitch a few months ago in one of the patterns on CrochetN'More by Lisa Hamblin. She makes hers a little different by pushing the bead to the back of the work when you make it. But I found that it stays in place better when you leave the bump at the front. Depending on how you hold your hook this might be a bit trickier, but then again, it might not be.

Anyhow, I decided to try the stitch in a crochet thread and thought it might look pretty in a bracelet and ring. The ring is worked in rounds, but the bracelet can be crocheted up in rounds or in rows. If working it in rows you'll need a clasp or another type of closure. Otherwise you can just slip it onto the wrist.

This pattern has not been tested by anyone other than myself. It was so simple and the stitch pattern is so similar to a few other crochet patterns that I recently designed, so I went ahead and published it without a second pair of eyes. If you find any errors or have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
