Crochet Spider Sandals

Material: Red Heart Comfort yarn, and 6 knitting rings. The diameter measures approximately 1cm on the inside of the ring.
Hook size: G-6/4.00MM
Gauge: Measures 1" over 4 sc sts and 4 rows.
Finished size: Adult small, medium and large.

Note: Instructions are given for smallest size, medium and large sizes are given in brackets.

The right side (RS), is the side that faces you as you do each round.

Sole

Ch 25, (27, 29)

Rnd 1: 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch up to last ch, 5 sc in last ch, working in back loops on opposite side, sc in each ch up to last ch, 3 sc in last ch. Place stitch marker in last st and continue to move it up at each round.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in first st, sc in next 24, (26, 28) sts, 2 sc in next st, 3 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 24, (26, 28) sts, 2 sc in next st, 3 sc in next st.

Rnd 3: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 26, (28, 30) sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 26, (28, 30) sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts.

Rnd 4: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 28, (30, 32) sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 28, (30, 32) sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts.

Rnd 7: 2 sc in next st, sc in next 15, (16, 17) sts, hdc in next 19, (20, 21) sts, 3 hdc in next st, hdc in next 5 sts, 3 hdc in next st, hdc in next 19, (20, 21) sts, sc in next 15, (16, 17) sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts. Do not fasten off.

Rings, (or straps)

First Ring: Sc into next 3, (4, 5) sts, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into ring, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into next st, [ch 5, (6, 7), sc into ring, ch 5, (6, 7), sk next 4 sts, sc into next st,] 2 times, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into ring, work another 10 sc into ring (you will have to turn your work), join with sl st to base of first sc, ch 50, fasten off. Pass the string through the hole of the ring.

Second Ring: With RS of sole facing, join yarn to first hdc st, ch 10, (11, 12), sc into ring, ch 10, (11, 12), sc into next hdc st, ch 10, (11, 12), sc into ring, ch 12, (13, 14), sk next 5 sts, sc into next st, ch 12, (13, 14), sc into ring, ch 15, (16, 17), sk next 5 sts, sc into next st, ch 15, (16, 17), sc into ring, ch 15, (16, 17), sk next 21, (23, 25) sts, sc into next st, ch 15, (16, 17), sc into ring, ch 12, (13, 14), sk next 5 sts, sc into next st, ch 12, (13, 14), sc into ring, ch 10, (11, 12), sk next 5 sts, sc into next st, ch 10, (11, 12), sc into ring, ch 10, (11, 12), sc into next st. Fasten off.

Most likely your ring and ch sts will be on the wrong side of the sole. Flip the front of the sole through your work so that the ring is facing up, and on the right side of the sole, and the wrong side of the sole is facing down. Attach the yarn to the ring, ch 1, sc into the ring 8 times, fasten off.

Third Ring: (It is worked in opposite sequence as first ring.) Ch 50, sc into ring 11 times, ch 5, (6, 7), (turning the wrong side of the ring, and the right side of the sandal sole towards you, count 4 sts over on the sole from where you fastened off from the second ring), sc into that fourth st, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into ring, [ch 5, (6, 7), sk next 4 sts, sc into next st, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into ring] 2 times, sl st into base of first sc made on ring, ch 5, (6, 7), sc into next st. Fasten off. Pass the string in through the hole of the ring.
