An easy free crochet pattern for a loopy mop cover. The cover is crocheted by using the crochet loop stitch. It is fairly easy to crochet provided that you know how to do the loop stitch. It takes a bit of practice, but once you have the hang of it, it is quite easy.

The cover fits a bit loose on top in order for the mop to get through. However, it can easily be tucked into the slots to prevent it from sliding off the mop.

Finished size: Fits a mop that is approximately 10-11" by 4-4.5" in size.

Lp st dec: Work the first loop stitch as normal until you have 3 loops on hook (do not yarn over and draw through the 3 loops). Instead, move into the next stitch and repeat the same steps as in the first loop. You should have 5 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all 5 loops. (Tutorial Coming Soon)

Ch 23

Rnd 1: Work 3 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 20 sts, work 3 sc in next st, working in back loops, sc in next 20 sts. Do Not Join. Instead, work in a spiral, and place marker in last st made to keep track of the rounds.

Rnd 2: *Work 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next st, 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 20 sts, repeat from * once more.

Rnd 3: Work 1 lp st in next st, *3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 3 sts, 3 lp sts in next st,* 1 lp st in next 22 sts, Repeat from * to *, then work 1 lp st in next 21 sts.

Rnd 4: Work 1 lp st in next 2 sts, *work 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 5 sts, 3 lp sts in next st,* 1 lp st in next 24 sts, Repeat from * to *, then work 1 lp st in next 22 sts.

Rnd 5: Work 1 lp st in next 3 sts, *work 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 7 sts, 3 lp sts in next st,* 1 lp st in next 26 sts, Repeat from * to *, then work 1 lp st in next 23 sts.

Rnd 6: Work 1 lp st in next 4 sts, *work 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 9 sts, 3 lp sts in next st,* 1 lp st in next 28 sts, Repeat from * to *, then work 1 lp st in next 24 sts.

Rnd 7: Work 1 lp st in next 5 sts, *work 3 lp sts in next st, 1 lp st in next 11 sts, 3 lp sts in next st,* 1 lp st in next 30 sts, Repeat from * to *, then work 1 lp st in next 25 sts.

Rnd 8-9: Work 1 lp st around.

Rnd 10: Work 1 lp st in next 4 sts, *work 1 lp st dec over next 2 sts, 1 lp st in next 1 st, 1 lp st dec over next 2 sts,* 1 lp st in next 9 sts, repeat from * to *, ** then work 1 lp st in next 28 sts, repeat from first * to **, then work 1 lp st in next 24 sts.

Rnd 11: *Work 1 lp st in next 7 sts, 1 lp st dec over next 2 sts, repeat from * until the hole is somewhat closed in, but yet, large enough to fit over the mop (about another 4-5 rounds). Sl st into last st and fasten off.
