Oval Tote Crochet Pattern
Crocheted Tote With an Oval Bottom
I did not line this crocheted bag, but you could easily do so to make it stronger and less stretchy. For the handles, I took a different approach, which is a bit time consuming, but I kind of like the outcome.
This pattern has not been tested, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you find any errors. Thank you.
Thank you to all those who let me know about the printing problems. I think the "Print Friendly" code is working again. Not sure what the problem was but it should be working now. Let me know if you still run into issues.
And you can still right click and select print. It will give you a clean ad-free layout of the page. After you select print you can change the destination in the top left and save it as a PDF, fax it, or send it to your Google Drive. :)

Repeat rnd 14 until you have reached a desired height of the bag.
Edging: Work 1 sc in each st, and 4 sc into the ch-2 lp of shell.
Long Handles (Make 2): Ch 71, working in back lps, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, Fasten off.
Short Handles (Make 2): Ch 61, working in back lps, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, Fasten off.
Take a long and a short handle and lay them down beside each other with the right sides facing down. Count over 24 sts on the long handle and 19 on the short handle. With a needle and thread (same color yarn), join the handles in the top facing loops of the 24th and 19th st. Working in top loops only, join the two handles in the next 23 sts, leaving the last 23 and 18 sts unworked. Repeat process for the other two handles.
Lay the bag flat and align all the shells as pictured. You should have a folded shell on each folded side of the bag, and 5 shells laying flat on each side.
Attach the ends of the long handle to the outside shells, and the short ends to the shells right beside, leaving the center shell as is. Make sure that you do not twist the handles as you are attaching them and that the right side is facing outward. Then attach the other handle to the other side of the bag.
