Ribbed Scarf

Ribbed Scarf Ribbed Scarf2

This is a free crochet pattern for a ribbed scarf. However, if you want you can make a scarflette simply by doing fewer repeats of rows 4 and 5.

The ends have a slight flare, which is really nice, but the problem is that they tend to curl up. To solve this problem you can block the ends, or attach fringes to the end. To block the ends place them between 2 damp towels and allow to dry.

The pattern calls for Bernat Denimstyle yarn, but any worsted weight yarn will do. To make the scarf wider or narrower simply increase or decrease the beginning chs in multiples of 3. The total chs should be a multiple of 3 plus 2.

Material: Bernat Denimstyle 1 100g/3.5oz. ball.
Hook Size: H/8-5.00MM
Finished Measurements: 46" long, 4" wide.

Ch 20,

Row 1: (RS) Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 2, sk next 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from * to end of row. Turn

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, (ch 2, fpsc around next sc) 5 times, ch 2, sc in last sc st. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, (ch 2, bpsc around next fpsc) 5 times, ch 2, sc in last sc st. Turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first st, (ch 2, fpsc around next bpsc) 5 times, ch 2, sc in last sc st. Turn.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 until you have reached a desired length, ending with row 4.

Next Row: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch across. Fasten off.
