Rnd 1: Ch 23, sc in second ch from hook and in next 20 chs. Work 4 sc in last ch, working on opposite side of beginning ch, sc in next 20 chs, 3 sc in last ch. (48 sc).

Rnd 2: Sc in next 22 sts, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st twice, sc in next 22 sts, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st twice. (56 sts)

Rnd 3:Sc in next 23 sts, *(sc, ch 1, sc) in ch 1 sp, sc in next 2 sc, (sc, ch 1, sc) in ch-1 sp,* sc in next 24 sts, Repeat from * to * once, sc in next st. (64 sts)

Rnd 4: *Sc in each sc up to ch-1 sp, (sc, ch 1, sc) in ch-1 sp, repeat from * three times, sc in each st to end of rnd. (72 sts)

Rnds 5-6:Repeat rnd 4. (88 sts)

Rnd 7-8: Sc in each st and ch all around. Join with sl st at end of rnd 8.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sc in next st, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, *sc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, repeat from * all around, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 10: Sl st into ch-3 loop, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same loop, *6 dc in next ch-3 loop,** (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 loop,* ch 2, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 loop, repeat from * to * 5 times, ch 2, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 loop, then repeat from * to * 4 times ending last repeat at **, join with sl st.

Strap (Make only 1)

Row 1: (RS) Ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: (WS) Sc in first st, ch 3, sc in next st, *ch 2, skip next 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st, repeat from * once, turn.

Row 3: Sl st into loop, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same loop, 6 dc in next ch-3 loop, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 loop, turn.

Row 4: Sl st into loop, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same loop, ch 2, skip next 3 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in sp before next dc, ch 2, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next loop, turn.

Rows 5-54: Repeat rows 3 & 4.

Row 55: Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc and in each loop accross, fasten off.

Attaching the strap to bag:

With right side facing outward place one end of the strap on one side on inside of bag and line the 2 rows of sc's up so that the ch-3 loops on the strap correspond with the ch-3 loops on bag. Sew together. Do this on each side of the bag.
