Rasta Hat

This cool Rasta hat is a great complement to any outfit. It's one of those hats that is stylish enough to wear to work or school but causal and comfortable enough to wear while playing fantasy games online when you're relaxing at home. The Rasta hat is popular with kids and never goes out of style.
Rasta Hat

Material: 100g Patons Canadiana Yarn
Hook size: K/6.50mm
Gauge: Approximately 5" across first 5 rows
Finished sizes: Small and large. (Rnd 12 has special instructions for large size.)

The measurements for the small are 18" in circumference around the head, and 12" across the back when laying flat. It stretches to fit 20" head.

The measurements for the large are 21 inches in circumference around the head, and 13" across the back of it when laying flat. It stretches to fit an average size head.

Ch 5, join with sl st.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 12 sc in ring. Join with sl st in top of first sc. (12 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, and in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, *miss next 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 3. Repeat from *all around. Join with sl st. (8 loops)

Rnd 4: Sl st into loop, ch 3, 3 dc in same loop, work 4 dc in each of next 7 loops. Join with sl st.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st. (48 sts)

Rnd 6: Ch 3, (counts as first dc) dc in each st all around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st. (72 sts)

Rnd 8: Same as rnd 3 (24 loops)

Rnd 9: Sl st in first loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same loop, 3 dc in next loop and in each loop all around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st. (96 sts)

Rnd 11: Same as rnd 6. (96 sts)

Rnd 12 for small size: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st all around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 12 for large size: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 13: Same as rnd 3. (32, 42, loops)

Rnd 14: Same as rnd 9.

Rnd 15: Ch 1, sc in same st and in next st, sc2tog, *sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st. (72, 90, sts)

Rnd 16: Same as rnd 6.

Rnd 17: Same rnd 15. (54, 68, sts)

Rnd 18: Same as rnd 3. When making last 2 loops for large size skip 3 stitches. (18, 22, loops)

Rnd 19: Same as rnd 9.

Rnd 20: Ch 1, sc in same st and in next 3 sts, sc2tog, *sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog. Repeat from * all around. Join with sl st. (45, 55, sts)

Rnd 21: Same as rnd 6.

Rnd 22: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st all around. Join with sl st.

Rnd 23: Same as rnd 3. (15,18 loops)

Rnd 24: Same as rnd 9.

Rnd 25: Same as rnd 22. Fasten off.
