This mesh coaster pattern basically follows the same stitch pattern as the Corner Mesh Dishcloth. The only difference is that it does not have the cross shape in the center. The coaster measures approximately 4 by 4 inches, and is easy to follow, making it a suitable crochet pattern for the beginner.
I used Bernat Handicrafter cotton yarn, but any brand of this type of cotton yarn will work. The coaster pattern does not require a lot of yarn, and thus it is a good pattern to use up all those odds and ends.
The coaster will have to be blocked in order for its corners to maintain their shape. To do the blocking simply place it in between 2 damp towels and allow them to dry.
Another use for this coaster would be to use it as a gentle scrubber for your fruits and vegetables.
