Thank you to all those who let me know about the printing problems. I think the "Print Friendly" code is working again. Not sure what the problem was but it should be working now. Let me know if you still run into issues.
And you can still right click and select print. It will give you a clean ad-free layout of the page. After you select print you can change the destination in the top left and save it as a PDF, fax it, or send it to your Google Drive. :)
The yarn used in the pattern is Bernat cottontots, but other worsted weight yarn will work as well. You only need a small amount of yarn to crochet the headband. The stitches are very simple, making this a good crochet pattern for the beginning crocheter.
Material: Bernat Cottontots
Hook Size: G/6-4.00MM
Finished Measurement: The band measures approximately 1.5" wide and 12" long, and the string measures about 23". If a longer string is desired, you can always make it longer by chaining more.
Rnd 1: Ch 45, sc into 6th ch from hook, *ch 2, sk next 2 chs, sc in next ch, repeat from * to end. Do not turn, but continue to work in the round.
Rnd 2: Sl st into loop, ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) all in the same loop and into next 12 loops, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) 2 times in next loop, (sc hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in each loop to end. Join with sl st. Fasten off.
Ch 81 (or as many as needed), then working in back loops of chains, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch to end. Fasten off and weave into loops of the headband.
Row 1: Ch 45, sc into 6th ch from hook, *ch 2, sk next 2 chs, sc in next ch, repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 2: (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in each loop to the end. Fasten off leaving a long enough strand to sew the flower, about 12 inches.
Take the loose strand and weave it into the loops of the flower, going in through each loop in the same direction, as pictured.
Tighten the string to bunch the flower up a bit.
Then beginning at the end where the string came out, position the flower in a spiral and sew together.
Once the flower is the sewn, attach it to the string on the headband, or directly to the band.
