Crochet Cell Phone Holder and Coin Purse

March 27, 2014 · Rhelena · Leave a Comment

Keep your coins and phone safe inside your big purse with this crochet cell phone holder pattern and coin purse to match. Both follow a similar pattern using the cross-over long dc crochet stitch.

You can line the crochet phone holder if you want, but mine looks great the way it is. As for the coin purse, you will need to line it and sew in a zipper.

If you like this stitch, you might also enjoy the matching patterns: a brim hat, twisted cowl, and a pair of fingerless gloves.

Crochet Cell Phone Holder and Coin Purse

This pattern was designed for a small old phone. However, you can make adjustments in a multiple of four to fit any smartphone, tablet or even a laptop.

Finished Size: When laying flat it measures 3″ by 5″. Fits a phone measuring 2.25″ by 4.5″.

Abbreviations:

Bl/bls = Back Loop/Back Loops

Working the Cross-Over Long Double Crochet:

For this pattern the cross-over long double crochet is worked into the last stitch made in previous round, or into the skipped stitch of current round. To make the stitch, yarn over and insert the hook from front to back into designated stitch. Yarn over at the back and pull through. You should have three loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through last two loops. Picture and Video Tutorial

Crochet Coin Purse Pattern Instructions

cross-over-long-dc-coin-purse

The coin purse measures about 3″ high by 3″ wide.

For rnds 1-5, follow the same instructions as given above.

For rnd 6, follow rnd 11.

For rnd 7, follow rnd 12 and FO.

And instead of making the loop for the button, line the purse and sew in a small zipper. Most likely you won’t find a 3″ zipper, but you can take any zipper and shorten it to that length.
