Cross Stitch Crochet Tank Pattern
The cross stitch crochet tank pattern is available in sizes from XS to XL. The pattern has a lovely, yet simple lace created with the crossed stitch. As for the ribbed texture, it’s achieved simply by working into the back and front loops only.
The material used is acrylic yarn, which can get a bit warm in hot weather because it does not allow the skin to breathe. However, it’s the perfect summer top if working in an air-conditioned office or at home.
The garment measurements after crocheting are on the shorter side. However, you can block the garment to increase the length by several inches. The garment may also stretch more during normal wear and washing.
The yarn used for this project is machine washable and dryable; but for the garment to maintain it’s beauty, I highly recommend that you wash by hand and lay flat to dry.

Finishing
Seaming
With RS facing each other, sew seams at shoulders. Then starting at the underarms, sew seam along sides leaving a 3″ slit at the bottom on each side.
Edgings (worked with RS facing)
Join yarn along seam area and sc evenly around the armholes. Join with sl st to first sc and FO.
Join yarn at shoulder seam; sc evenly around neck opening, working a sc3tog at each corner where the straps meet the main section (bodice). Join with sl st to first sc and FO.
Join yarn at seam on bottom; sc evenly around, working 3 sc into each corner and a sc3tog on each side where the two sides split. Join with sl st to first sc and FO.
Blocking
Dampen and block seams between two damp towels, or use whatever blocking method works for you. You may also want to block pieces before you seam.
I’m confused on the front shoulder strap. Rows 4-7: Rep Rows 2 and 3 twice. [6, (6, 8, 12, 12) sts or 2 bldc and 2, (2, 3, 5, 5) cross sts]
How do you repeat rows 2 and 3 twice for rows 4-7. Wouldn’t you just say repeat rows 2 and 3.. what am I missing.
Then for rows 10-11. You say repeat rows 8-9 once. That makes sense. But I would just say repeat rows 8-9.
Thanks for your help
Hi Catharina, Good question… so to repeat twice does not mean to repeat twice in one row, but rather to repeat those rows two more times for a total of 7 rows. For row 4 you would repeat row 2, Row 5 you would rep row 3, then Row 6 you rep Row 2 again, and Row 7 you rep Row 3. Hope that makes sense, but let me know. :) Thank you.
