Horizontal Puffs in ESC – Photo and Video Tutorial

Learn how to crochet the puff stitch horizontally into an extended single crochet to give you a different look. This stitch is a variation of the horizontal puff stitch, as it is worked into the chain of the extended single crochet rather than around the entire base of the stitch.

I love this version because you get a neat “tied” look on the right side of the fabric. This effect is created by the unworked chain loop in the extended single crochet. Plus, the fabric looks great on both sides and can be adjusted in any multiple of two for the starting chains.

The crochet stitch pattern is at the intermediate crochet level, but well worth the effort in learning if you prefer the textures of the puff stitch.

The horizontal puff stitch crochet pattern is great for making cozy winter blankets, including baby blankets, hats and scarves, bags, and so much more.
