Jacob’s Ladder Popcorn Scarf – FREE Crochet Pattern

Material: Patons Canadiana (3, 85g balls) 1 ball will do about 22 inches.
Hook Size: H/8-5.00MM
Finished Width: Measures 7″ wide.

Popcorn Stitch

PC: Work 5 dc in st indicated, remove hook from loop, insert hook in first dc of 5 dc sts made, pick up the loop and pull through.

Ch 24,

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in next 6 chs, (ch 6, sk next ch, sc in next 7 chs) twice. Turn

Row 2: Ch 2, dc in first 2 sts, *ch 1, sk next st, PC in st, ch 1, sk next st, dc in next 2 sts,** ch 6, sk loop, dc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to end of row ending at **. Turn

Row 3: Ch 2, dc in first 2 sts and into next ch and PC, dc into next ch and next 2 sts, *ch 6, skip loop, dc in next 2 sts and into next ch and PC, dc into next ch and next 2 sts, repeat from * to end of row.

Rows 2 and 3 form the pattern, repeat until you have reached a desired length, ending with row 2.

Last Row: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts and into next ch and PC, sc into next ch and next 2 sts, *sc into Jacob’s Ladder loop, sc in next 2 sts and into next ch and PC, sc into next ch and next 2 sts, repeat from * to end of row. Fasten Off.

Optional Edging: You can sc evenly around the scarf, with 3 sc into each corner st.
