This cup cozy is worked up in two colors and is turned after certain rounds to create a different texture and design.

Here is a quick and easy gift idea for your last-minute holiday gifts. It’ll go well with the crochet dishcloth pattern I did using the same stitch, but in a slightly different color pattern.

Also, you can crochet this to any size you like. So if you want to use a different size yarn, it’s very easy to make adjustments for your yarn.

Swish-Swash Cup Cozy

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton – 2 Colors.
Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm

Finished Size: Laying flat it measures 4″ across and 3″ high.

Abbreviations:

RS = Right Side
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
Dc = Double Crochet
Rep = Repeat
Sc = Single Crochet
Sk = Skip
Sl St = Slip Stitch
Sp/Sps = Space/Spaces
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches

Notes:

Carry unused color up at each round.

Change to new color after you’ve made the join in the round. First two stitches in each round hide the color change.

Crochet Pattern Instructions:

With First Color, Ch 30 (or any multiple of 3), join with sl st in first ch being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1 (RS): Working into back bumps, ch 1, sc in same ch as join and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. [30 sts] Do Not Turn.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc, dc, ch 1) in same st as join, *sk next 2 sts, (sc, dc, ch 1) in next st; rep from * around; sk last 2 sts, join with sl st in first sc. [20 sts and 10 ch-1 sps] Turn.

Rnd 3: Change to Next Color: Ch 1, (sc, dc, ch 1) in same sc as where join was made, *sk ch-1 and dc, (sc, dc, ch 1) in next sc; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc. [20 sts and 10 ch-1 sps] Turn.

Rnds 4-8: Rep Rnd 3 changing your color after each round. Rnd 8 is worked with First Color. Do not Turn after Rnd 8.

Rnd 9 (RS): With First Color and RS facing: Ch 1, sc same st as join and into each st and ch around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten Off.
