A Bullion Bracelet

Here is a cute bracelet done up in the bullion stitch. This is my first project where I used a thread to make the bullion stitch. And I have to admit, it was a bit tricky at first. However, after my second bracelet, they came out looking fairly decent. Still room for improvement, but not too shabby.

With that said, you can crochet this bracelet in any yarn and hook size as it’s easy to adjust to any size in a simple multiple of two.

Another thing you could try is using a different color for the second round. And that means it’s the perfect pattern for cleaning up your smallest amounts of yarn. So why not give it a try and make a few for yourself and a few for your daughters.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Materials:
Yarn: Size 3 crochet thread
Crochet Hook: 3.00mm

Finished Size: Laying flat it measures 3.5″ across by .75″ wide.

Bs = Bullion Stitch
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
FO = Fasten Off
Lp/Lps = Loop/Loops
Rep = Repeat
Sc = Single Crochet
Sk = Skip
Sl St = Slip Stitch

Special Instructions:

Bullion Stitch (bs): Yo 5 times, insert hook into designated st, yo and pull through, yo and pull through all lps on hk, yo and pull through to close stitch. Bullion Stitch Photo Tutorial

The bullion is a bit tricky to make in a thread, so feel free to practice in worsted weight yarn using any multiple of two for your starting chains.

Pattern Instructions:

Ch 36, or any multiple of 2; join with sl st in first ch being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: Working into back bumps, ch 1, sc in same ch as join and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. FO. (36 sts)

Rnd 2: Work a stbs in same st as join, ch 1, *sk next st, (bs, ch 1) in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in first bs. (18 bs and 18 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st and ch-1 around; join with sl st in first sc. FO. (36 sts)
