Bead and Lace Crochet Coffee Cup Sleeve

Here is a quick and easy crochet coffee cup sleeve pattern to fit the average take-out coffee cup. It’s an easy pattern, and makes for a lovely gift idea.

This cozy is basically the same as the bead stitch cup cozy, except this one has a bit of lace worked into the design. Both are about the same size to fit a regular coffee cup. You might also enjoy this popcorn crochet cup cozy, or this mug cozy for when you’re at home.

Bead and Lace Crochet Coffee Cup Sleeve

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton #4
Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm

Gauge: 3″ over 10 sts.

Finished Size: Fits over a large or medium cup sleeve.

Abbreviations:

Bead St = Bead Stitch
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Hk = Hook
Lp/Lps = Loop/Loops
Rep = Repeat
Sc = Single Crochet
Sk = Skip
Sl St = Slip Stitch
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
YO = Yarn Over

Special Stitch Instructions:

Bead St: Insert hk into indicated st, yo and pull through, (yo and pull through one lp on hk) twice, yo and pull through both lps on hk. When you work into the next stitch make sure the bobble is facing the right side. See Tutorial

Pattern Instructions:

Loosely ch 28 (or any multiple of 2). Join with sl st to first ch being careful not to twist chs.

Another Option: Instead of chs, make 28 Foundation Single Crochets. Then skip rnd 1 and begin at rnd 2.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, working into back bumps, sc in same ch as join and into each ch around; join with sl st to first sc. (28 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, work bead st in same st as join, *sc in next st, bead st in next st; rep from * around to last st; sc in last st; join with sl st to first bead st. (28 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, (hdc, ch 1) in first st, *sk next st, (hdc, ch 1) in next st; rep from * around to last st; sk last st; join with sl st to first hdc. (14 ch-1 spaces)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st and ch around; join with sl st in first sc. (28 sts)

Rnds 6-11: Rep rnds 2 to 5 ending with rnd 3 at rnd 11. Fasten Off at last rnd.
