Materials:
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton #4 (1-2 colors)
Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm

Finished Size: 3″ across.

Abbreviations:

CA = Color A
CB = Color B

Puff St = Puff Stitch
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
FO = Fasten Off
Hk = Hook
Lp/Lps = Loop/Loops
Rep = Repeat
Sc = Single Crochet
Sl St = Slip Stitch
Sp/Sps = Space/Spaces
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
Stsc = Standing Single Crochet – Refer to this Tutorial
YO = Yarn Over

Special Stitch Instructions:

Standing Puff St: Make a slip knot, yo and insert hk into st, yo and pull through (3 lps on hk), (yo, insert hk into same st, yo and pull through) 2 times (7 lps on hk), yo and pull through all 7 lps. Ch 1, to secure. Refer to this tutorial for the standing crochet stitch.

Puff st: (Yo, insert hk into st, yo and pull through) 3 times (7 lps on hk), yo and pull through all 7 lps. Ch 1, to secure.

Join the rounds with a tight slip stitch to eliminate a gap.

Pattern Instructions:

Rnd 1: With CA, Ch 2, work 6 sc into 2nd ch from hk; join with sl st in first sc. (6 sts)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc, ch 1) in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in first sc. (6 sc and 6 ch-1 sps) FO CA.

Note: to ensure all sc get worked into, you might want to place a marker into each sc before starting Rnd 3.

Rnd 3: With CB, work a standing puff st in same st as join, work puff st in same st, *skip ch 1, work 2 puff sts in next sc; rep from * around; join with sl st in first puff st. (12 puff sts) FO CB.

Rnd 4: With CA, work a stsc on top of first standing puff st, work 2 sc in sp before next puff st, *sc on top of puff st, 2 sc in sp before next puff st; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc. (36 sts) FO.
