Fan Wrap – FREE Crochet Pattern

Here is my fan wrap crochet pattern. You can make it any size that you want by increasing the beginning chains and doing more repeats of the pattern rows. The beginning chains should be a multiple of 10 plus 3. Hope you enjoy!

I used a size 3 crochet thread, but I imagine that you could use any thread or yarn to make this pattern.

Fan Wrap

Material: Size 3 crochet thread (3 150 yard skeins)

Hook size: E 3.50MM
Gauge: 10 dc and 5 rows = 2.5 inches.
Finished size: After blocking it measures 11 inches wide, 55 inches long. To increase the width, simply do more repeats of rows 3-6. To increase the length, simply increase the beginning chs by a multiple of 10, (your total amount of chs should be a multiple of 10 plus 3.)

Abbreviations and Special Stitch Instructions:

Ch, chs = Chain, chains
Dc = Double crochet
Esc = Extended Single Crochet
Sl st = Slip stitch
Sp = Space
St, sts = Stitch, stitches
Tr = Triple Crochet
Yo = Yarn over

ESC: Insert hook in stitch or chain indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.

Puff st: *Yo, insert hook into loop, Yo and pull up a loop, repeat from * twice. (7 loops on hook), Yo and pull through all 7 loops.

Picot: Ch 3, sl st into third ch from hook.

Beginning chs: Ch 223

Row 1: Esc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Esc in first 2 sts, *ch 3, skip next 3 sts, esc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to end, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Esc in first 2 sts, *(puff st, picot, puff st) in ch-3 sp, esc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to end, turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, (counts as first dc) dc in next st, *ch 3, dc in next 2 esc, repeat from * up to end, ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Esc in first 2 sts, *skip ch-3 sp and next dc, 7 tr in sp before next dc, skip dc and ch-3 sp, esc in next 2 dc, repeat from * to end, turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, (counts as first dc) dc in next st, *ch 3, skip next 3 tr, 2 sc in next tr, ch 3, skip next 3 tr, dc in next 2 esc, repeat from * to end, ch 1, turn.

Row 7-26: Repeat rows 3-6.

Row 27: Esc in first 2 dc, *3 esc into loop, esc in next 2 sc, 3 esc into loop, esc into next 2 dc, repeat from * to end of row. Fasten off.

To Block:

Simply dip in water and squeeze out any excess water with a towel. Lay flat and shape to desired shape and size using pins if necessary. Let dry.
