RSC Bone Ring Button

Here is another bone ring button for you to enjoy. It’s very similar to the first bone ring button, but instead of slip stitching around, I decided to do reverse single crochets for the second round. And much to my surprise they came out looking great!

The finished size for this button is 1.25″. It might be too big a button for most closures, but it would make for a cute embellishment somewhere. I’m thinking maybe on a summer hat, a headband or on your winter boot cuffs. But I’ll leave it up to you.

For this button I experimented with two different yarns, one a baby yarn and the other in a worsted weight. They both came out to be about the same, but the one in worsted was slightly chunkier than the one in baby yarn. The one in worsted weight was also a bit slippery and resulted in a slightly jagged edge. I kind of like it though, which is why I decided to add it to image.

Pattern Instructions:

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
Yarn: For best results use a baby yarn #3 baby yarn, or a #4 will work as well.
Crochet Hook: G 4.00mm
Other: 1/2″ Bone Ring

Finished Size: 1.25″ across.

Abbreviations:

Rsc = Reverse Single Crochet
Sc = Single Crochet
Sl St = Slip Stitch
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
Stsc = Standing Single Crochet

Pattern Instructions:

Rnd 1: Leaving a 3-4″ tail, work a stsc around bone ring. Work another 11 sc into ring; join loosely with sl st in first stsc. (12 sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, rsc in each stitch around. Join with sl st in first st. Fasten off leaving a 3-4″ tail.

Weave the tail ends to the centre so you have one on each side of the bone ring. Use the tail ends for tying the button.
