A Ray of Sunshine Teething Toy

The ray of sunshine teething toy is designed to help soothe aching gums associated with teething. The crocheted teething toy has ten points, which fit nicely into the baby’s mouth for them to chew on. It’s also a great cleanser for the entire mouth and tongue, so you’ll definitely want to make a few and keep them handy for your little one.

A Ray of Sunshine Teething Toy made with a wooden ring and cotton yarn.

I used a wooden ring, but a plastic one will work too. You can get them at Etsy or other online stores.

One thing to keep in mind with these teething toys is that you want to keep them nice and clean for your baby. You will want to wash it after each use and make sure to thoroughly dry it, wood and all. Otherwise you could end up with nasty germs and other yuck-yucks. For that reason, I would almost recommend a plastic ring as it is easier to clean and dry, than wood.

The Yarn

Always choose a cotton, or another natural material that is safe to go into a baby’s mouth. You also want something that is colorfast as you don’t want any dyes that are going to leak. If unsure, choose a white color.
