Picot Crochet Doily
This picot crochet doily pattern not only serves as a delightful stash buster project but also offers endless possibilities for decorating your home. Make one or make a whole bunch using lots of colors from your yarn stash to decorate your entire home.
It’s great for table tops and shelves underneath a vase, picture frame or a jewelry box.
Another idea is to hang it on the walls to make a pretty arrangement using colors to complement your home.
Or, if you make a lot of gifts, this would look nice on top of a gift. The open spaces make it easy to weave a string through to wrap it securely on top of a gift.
The Size
The finished size measures 7.5″ across the diameter. Feel free to experiment with different yarns and hook sizes to increase or decrease the size to fit your home.
The Yarn
I used three colors of leftover yarn from Caron Simply Soft. Three colors is what I needed to use up, and it worked great for this doily. Use whatever colors you have in your stash, whether it be a solid color or two or more colors.
Any similar worsted weight will give you similar results.
Just remember to stick with the same brand of yarn throughout a project.

The Stitch Pattern
The crochet doily is started in the middle by working the first round into a ring made with found chains Alternatively you can start the round with a magic circle.
A small picot flower is made in the first round. Then a very basic stitch pattern with solid stitches, open stitches and picots.
To finish the doily and give it a touch of elegance, a picot edging is worked for the last round.
