Blue-Water – Crochet Water Bottle Holder

Use up your leftover cotton yarn and make a crochet water bottle holder to free up your hands on your summer outings. This bottle cozy is a great companion for long walks on nature trails, at the beach, or sports events.

The cozy works up quick and easy, and is customizable in terms of both size and color design. If using a solid color you can add as little as one stripe near the top or bottom of the holder to make it stand out and use up the smallest amounts of yarn scraps.

The Size

The finished size fits snug over a 500ml water bottle. However, the stitch multiple is only a multiple of two, and the diameter can easily be adjusted for any bottle size.

The handle also, can be adjusted as needed. Thus, you could easily increase it so that it fits across the body. Another option is to decrease the handle to simply slide it over a purse or bag handle.

Regardless of which you choose, a simple crochet water bottle holder like this will keep your hands free as you embark on your summer adventures.

The Yarn

I used a worsted weight cotton yarn to make this. It’s a fairly sturdy yarn, and doesn’t require a lining for a simple holder like this.

Bernat Handicrafter Cotton is my go-to yarn, but other similar yarns can work just as well.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch pattern is super easy with the single crochet eyelets and the extended single crochet cross stitch. The combination gives you a bit of texture and a bit of an open stitch for a pretty fabric.

To better see the textures, choose a solid or striped color design.
