Another Bullion Stitch Bag

My experiments with the bullion stitch arn’t over just yet. It’s a beautiful stitch and although it isn’t that hard to make, I still have more perfecting to do… as you can see from the photo above. Perhaps it’s the stretch in the bag, or the yarn, but the bullions look a little curved. I used Loops and Threads soft and shiny, but I think a cotton is much more suitable for bags.

Anyhow, this bag has a lot of stretch to it, so you’ll need to line it in order to preserve the stitches. Unfortunately, I don’t have a tutorial for lining a round bag, but it shouldn’t be hard if you have a basic knowledge of sewing. You would simply cut out a circle for the bottom and a rectangle for the sides and sew them together and into the bag.

The finished bag measures 11 by 11 inches, making it a good size for a personal tote bag.
