Bead Stitch Bracelet and Ring

Depending on your dress code, this crochet bracelet and ring set can be a lot of fun, especially for young girls. You don’t need much yarn or time, which means this is the perfect idea for a last-minute gift idea. Make it as a birthday gift, a stocking stuffer, or as a fun surprise any day of the year.

There are a lot of variations that you can do with only a small amount of leftovers, so if you crochet with thread a lot, this pattern is the perfect solution to using up those odds and ends.

The Yarn

I worked this up in both a size three thread and a worsted weight yarn. Both worked, however, I much prefer the thread as it gives you more details while keeping things narrow.

The Stitch Pattern

The ring is worked in rounds, but the bracelet can be crocheted up in rounds or in rows. If working it in rows you’ll need a clasp or another type of closure. Otherwise, you can just slip it onto the wrist.

As for the stitch, I used bead stitch, which is basically an extension of the single crochet in one stitch and then the regular single crochet in the next. You get a pretty beaded texture, which makes it ideal for making jewelry.

Special Stitch Instructions

• Bead St: Insert hk into indicated st, yo and pull through, (yo and pull through one lp on hk) twice, yo and pull through both lps on hk. When you work into the next stitch make sure the bobble is facing the right side.

Notes

• Instructions are given for the ring. Special instructions for the bracelet are given in parenthesis.
• To add more color, switch to a second color for the second round. Then for the third round, switch back to the first color.

Instructions

• Ch 12, (30) or any multiple of 2. Join with sl st to first ch being careful not to twist chs.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same ch as join and in each ch around; join with sl st to first sc. (12, (30) sts)
• Rnd 2: Ch 1, work bead st in same st as join, sc in next st, *bead st in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st to first bead st.
• Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and in each st around; join with sl st to first sc. FO.

Variation for Bracelet

• Materials Required:
• Caron Simply Soft or any other worsted weight yarn.
• 4.50mm or any hook suitable for yarn.
• One 2cm Clasp
• The variation is worked in rows.
• Ch 20, or any multiple of 2.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. (19 sts) Turn.
• Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *bead st in next st, sc in next st; rep from * across. Turn.
• Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st and in each st across. FO.
• Attach the clasps to the ends with a yarn needle and a small piece of yarn or thread.
