This quick and easy twisted ear warmer crochet pattern is the perfect solution for adding an extra layer to your winter outfit. It is a nice alternative to a hat and also makes for a nice companion for a winter hood.

The great thing about a crocheted ear warmer is that you don’t need much yarn, which makes this a great stash-buster pattern. Also, the stitch pattern is super easy to work up in multiple colors if you have small amounts of leftovers that you want to use up.

This pattern is similar to the SC Eyelets Crochet Earwarmer, except for this one the eyelets are worked in extended single crochet stitches to make them slightly bigger.

Easy Twisted Ear Warmer Crochet Pattern Information

This crochet ear warmer is a simple eyelet pattern that you will enjoy wearing throughout the seasons.

The pattern is super easy and mindless. It is started with a row of single crochets, followed by a row of extended single crochet stitches and chain one spaces.

Materials

Vanna’s Choice is a great yarn for crocheted ear warmers because it gives you a nice stretch. It is a medium worsted-weight acrylic yarn that works well with a 6 mm crochet hook. The yarn is readily available in many yarn stores. Best of all, it is economic and easy to care for!

  • Gauge: 13 sts = 4″.
  • Finished Size: 21″ circumference by 3.75″

The finished size for this ear warmer is for an adult large, but that can easily be modified by adjusting your starting chains in the multiple provided. This ear warmer size chart can help if you’re making gifts for friends and family.

Ch 76, or any multiple of 2.

Row 1: Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Turn. [75 sts]

Row 2: Ch 1, esc in first st, *ch 1, sk next st, esc in next st; rep from * across. Turn. [37 ch-1 sps]

Row 3: Ch 1, sc into first st and into each st and ch across. Turn. [75 sts]

Rows 4-11: Rep Rows 2 and 3. Fasten off, leaving a 10″ tail for sewing.

To sew the twist, fold the band lengthwise with the Wrong Sides facing the outside.
