Eyelet Fun Fur Wine Bottle Cozy
This fun fur crochet wine bottle cozy is shown here in red, white, and green for the Christmas holiday season. Choose any three colors to make this for your celebrations. Red, white, blue and other patriotic colors would look just as great.
Since you can’t really see the white behind the fun fur, you could choose a worsted weight similar in color to the fun fur. Maybe a shade darker to one of the colors might look nice.
Finished Size
The finished cozy fits a wine bottle that is just under 3″ in diameter. You can increase that to fit any wine bottle simply by doing more increase rounds for the base.
Rule of thumb for increasing is if you start with 12 stitches you increase by 12 stitches in each round.
12 stitches can make a huge increase to the cozy. So if you need to fudge the numbers on the last decrease round to get the circumference that you need you can certainly do so.
About the Cozy
This wine bottle cozy is the exact same pattern as the eyelet wine bottle cozy, except that I added an extra round of fun fur.
To be honest, I hate working with fun fur because it makes it more difficult to find your stitches. So what can I say, except that I cheated. Instead of working in a regular round of fun fur, I decided to crochet it into the front loops of round 4. I crocheted up to round 6 and then backtracked and did the fun fur. That way the fuzzies didn’t get in my way, and it wasn’t too awkward to hold the work while working into the front loops.
