Crochet Wine Bottle Cozy ~ FREE Crochet Pattern

Alternating Wine Bottle Cozy ~ FREE Crochet Pattern
Alternating Wine Bottle Cozy ~ FREE Crochet Pattern

Continuing with my wine bottle cozies, I made this one a bit bigger than the rest that I made so far. This one is designed to fit a bottle with a 4″ diameter. If you need a different size, simply increase/decrease the diameter and then make adjustments for the handle accordingly. Any multiple of two works with this simple pattern.

And, since it’s so easy to adjust in size, you could leave off the handles and crochet this as a jar cozy as well.

I chose a red and white, which makes it great for Christmas, Valentines, or any other occasion. But, it’ll look great in other colors as well.

Crochet Pattern Information:

Skill Level: Intermediate

Materials:
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (worsted-weight (#4) 100% acrylic, 7 oz/198g – 364 yds/333m) – 2 Colors.
Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm

Finished Size: Fits a 4″ diameter bottle, but can be adjusted as needed by increasing/decreasing the diameter.

Abbreviations:

CA = Color A – White
CB = Color B – Red

Blslst = Back Loop Slip Stitch
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
Flhdc = Front Loop Half Double Crochet
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Rep = Repeat
Sc = Single Crochet
Sl St = Slip Stitch
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches

Notes:

Color changes are made after each round is joined with a slip stitch.

Join each round in both loops of first stitch.

If you experience difficulties making the first flhdc and blslst in each round, try wiggling the hook.

The stitches are alternated with the hdc worked into the front loop only of the sl st, and the sl st is worked into the back loop only of the hdc.
