Chain Loops Hair Scrunchie Pattern

Here is another hair scrunchie pattern to help keep your long hair in place on a hot summer day or on a windy day.

I really love this one because it is nice and full. It is perfect for making gifts for your friends and family, because it is great for little girls and adults of all ages!

And because it works up so quick and easy, it is also the perfect item to make for selling at craft fairs.

The Stitches Used

This is an easy crochet pattern and perfect for beginners who have mastered the basic stitches and are comfortable with the hook and yarn in hand.

The only stitches you need to know are the chains and single crochet stitches. The only difficult part is to single crochet around an elastic hair band.

The Size

I worked this around a regular sized hair elastic. But, you can basically choose any size elastic and make adjustments to the number of chains that you work around it.

One way to determine the number of stitches to stretch it out and put it on. If if stretches out to where you need it, then you have enough. If you feel it is pulling tight, simply add a few more stitches, in any multiple of two.

Another thing to consider is the fact that sometimes the elastic can show through your crochet work. Adding more stitches, or choosing an elastic that matches the yarn can help to solve that.

The Yarn

I used a medium worsted weight yarn with a 5 mm crochet hook. However, you can basically crochet this in any yarn and hook size that you have on hand!

One of my testers chose a thread and it turned out lovely.
