Lightweight Crochet Cowl Pattern – Vivi
If you love the V-stitch, then you will enjoy this lightweight crochet cowl pattern. It is worked up in the half double and triple crochet V-stitches to give you a pretty lace that you’ll enjoy wearing throughout the seasons.
The cowl works up quickly and easily, and only requires one ball of yarn, making it great for an evening project.
I used a more expensive yarn to make this, but any similar yarn will work to make this as well. Cotton Fair by Premier would be my next choice.
One great thing about crocheting cowls is that they do not have to be an exact fit, making it super easy for you to choose your favorite yarn that you have on hand.

- Crochet Hooks: E/3.50mm and G/4.00mm
- Other: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

- Beg Tr V-st: Ch 5 (counts as first tr and ch-1 sp), tr in same st to complete the v-st.
- Tr V-st: (tr, ch 1, tr) in designated sp.
Pattern Instructions
- This crochet cowl pattern is worked in the round, all from one side. The chains and the first and last rounds are worked with an E crochet hook. Rounds 2-12 are worked with a G hook.
Lightweight Crochet Cowl Pattern Instructions
- With E hook, ch 132, or any multiple of 6; join with sl st in first ch being careful not to twist.
- Rnd 1: Ch 1, working into back bumps, sc in same ch as join and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. [132 sts]
- Rnd 2: With G hook, work beg hdc V-st in same st as join, ch 3, *sk next 5 sts, hdc v-st in next st, ch 3; rep from * around to last 5 sts; sk last 5 sts; join with sl st in first hdc (2nd ch). [22 v-sts]
- Rnd 3: Sl st into first v-st, work beg tr V-st, ch 3, *tr v-st in next v-st, ch 3; rep from * around; join with sl st in first tr (4th ch). [22 v-sts]
- Rnd 4: Sl st into first v-st, work beg hdc V-st, ch 3, *hdc v-st in next v-st, ch 3; rep from * around; join with sl st in first hdc (2nd ch). [22 v-sts]
- Rnds 5-12: Rep Rnds 3 & 4.
