Seed Stitch Crochet Cup Cozy Pattern

This crochet cup cozy pattern is worked up in the seed stitch. It’s a nice solid texture with a bit of a spiral to it. Work it up in a single color, or in as many colors as you want. A single stripe at the bottom and the top would look nice.

Either way, this stitch will great, making it a great pattern to clean up your stash while making gifts for all the tea and coffee drinkers in your life. Especially those having to commute to work every day, they’ll be more than happy to receive a few of these!

Best of all, is that it works up super quick and easy. And it helps to save the environment.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch used is the seed stitch, which is the single crochet and double crochet stitches worked into the same stitch. The next stitch is then skipped in order to maintain the stitch count.

It’s very easy to make, and gives you a nice texture.

The Finished Size

It is shown on a medium-sized coffee cup, but it should work other sizes as well. The small might be a bit iffy as to whether or not it might be a bit too big. But, you can always reduce that by two or more starting chains if needed.

Recommended Yarn

Choose a worsted weight cotton. Not only because it is more absorbent to help catch any accidental spills, but also because it is more heat resistant than most other yarns.

I used Bernat Handicrafter, but any similar yarns should work just as well. Lion Brand, Lily Sugar ‘N’ Cream are two brands that also carry nice cotton for this project.
