Skill Level: Easy

Materials

  • Yarn: Lion Brand Yarns – Pound Of Love (Medium, #4; 100% Premium Acrylic; 1020yds/932m; 16oz./454g) 2 colors.
  • Crochet Hook: J/10-6.00mm
  • Tools: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Finished Size

6.5″ wide by 62″ long.

Crochet Abbreviations

  • CA = Color A – Blue
  • CB = Color B – White
  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • FO = Fasten Off
  • Rep = Repeat
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Sk = Skip
  • Sp/Sps = Space/Spaces
  • Sp-St= Spider Stitch
  • St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches

Special Stitch Instructions

Spider Stitch (sp-st): (Sc, ch 1, sc) into designated st or sp.

To Change Colors

Work the stitch in the previous row as normal until the last step and you have two loops left on the hook; drop the old color, pick up the new color and draw through both loops to complete the stitch. 

Fasten off the old color after each color change. If you plan to add an edging, you can carry the yarn up.

Spaced Spider Stitch Crochet Scarf Pattern Instructions

With CA, ch 24, or any multiple of 3.

Row 1: Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and into each ch across. Turn. [23 sts]

Row 1: Ch 1, (sc, ch 1) in first st, sk next st, (sp-st, ch 1) in next st; *sk next 2 sts, (sp-st, ch 1) in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts, sk next st, sc in last st. Turn. [2 sc and 7 sp-sts and 8 ch-1 sps, OR 16 sc and 15 ch-1 sps]

Row 2: Ch 1, (sc, ch 1) in first st, (sp-st, ch 1) in ch-1 sp of next sp-st and into each sp-st across; sc in last st. [2 sc and 7 sp-sts]

Rows 3-209: Rep Row 2, changing colors up as per color sequence below.

Row 210: Ch 1, sk first st, sc in first ch-1, *sc in next sc, sk ch-1 of sp-st, sc in next sc, sc in ch-1; rep from * across to last st; sc in last st. FO.

Optional Edging

Ch 1, sc evenly around, working 3 sc into each corner. Join with a slip stitch in first sc. Fasten Off.
