Skinny Summer Scarf Crochet Pattern – Hdc V-St and Tr

Skill Level: Easy
Materials
- Yarn: Cotton Fair by Premier Yarns (Fine, #2; 52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317yds/290m; 3.5oz./100g) 1 ball
- Crochet Hook: G – 4mm
- Other: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

4″ wide by 70″ long.
Abbreviations
- Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
- Hdc = Half Double Crochet
- Rep = Repeat
- Sc = Single Crochet
- Sk = Skip
- St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
- Tr = Triple Crochet
- V-St = V Stitch

Note: I find that when you use the turning chain as a stitch it can leave a bigger hole, and therefore I prefer not to use the turning chain as a stitch. The downside of this is that it can leave a jagged edge. However, that can be remedied by working an edging.
Pattern Instructions:
Loosely ch 18, or any multiple of 3.
Row 1: Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Turn. [17 sts]
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first st, sk next st, hdc v-st in next st, *sk next 2 sts, hdc v-st in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts, sk next st, hdc in last st. Turn. [5 v-sts]
Row 3: Ch 3 (does not count as st), tr in first st, 3 tr in first v-st and into each v-st across. Tr in last st. Turn. [17 sts]
Rows 4-119: Rep Rows 2 &3.
Row 120: Rep Row 2.
Row 121: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch across.
Edging
With Right Side facing, ch 1, sc in first st and into each st around, working 3 sc into each corner. Join with a slip stitch in first sc. Fasten Off.

Step 1
Row 1.: Ch any multiple of 3 to obtain the width that you need.
Step 2
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across.
Step 3
Row 2. Turn. Ch 1.
Step 4
Hdc in first st, sk next st.
Step 5
Hdc, ch 1, hdc in next st (first v-st made).
Step 6
*Sk next 2 sts, v-st in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts.
Step 7
Sk next st.
Step 8
Hdc in last st.
Step 9
Row 3. Turn. Ch 3 (chs do not count as st).
Step 10
Tr in first st.
Step 11
3 tr into sp of each v-st.
Step 12
Tr in last st.
Rep Rows 2 and 3, ending with Row 2.
For the last row, sc in each st and ch across.
