Open Stitch Easy Crochet Hair Scrunchie Pattern Information
The only stitches needed to make this are the single crochets, half double crochets and chain spaces!
The free crochet pattern is perfect for beginners who are comfortable with crocheting around an elastic.

Materials
- Yarn: Scheepjes Stone Washed (Fine, #2; 78% Cotton, 22% Acrylic; 50g; 130m) 1 ball
- Crochet Hook: E 3.50mm
- Other: 1 Goody Hair elastic
- Tools: Scissors, Yarn Needle.
I used Scheepjes Stonewashed, which is a fine #2 yarn. Any similar yarn will work just as well. Cotton Fair is the same weight, but slightly thinner, and it’s a good yarn for scrunchies like this.
And since this hair scrunchie is not very big, you might even be able to substitute it with a light DK yarn.

Sizing Note
Work any number of stitches around the elastic to get the fullness you want.
The size is super easy to customize for any sized hair elastic. With no stitch multiple, you simply work the first round until the elastic is nice and full, and then follow the pattern to complete the scrunchie.
Easy Crochet Hair Scrunchie Pattern Instructions
Rnd 1: Join yarn to elastic with a stsc, sc around the elastic another 59 times; join with sl st in first sc. [60 sc]
Rnd 2: Ch 1, (hdc, ch 2) in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in first hdc. [60 ch-2 sps]
Rnd 3: Sl st into first sp, ch 1, 4 sc in same sp and into each sp around; join with sl st in first sc. [240 sts]
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten Off. [240 sts]
