Simple Lace Crochet DIY Cup Cozy Crochet Pattern

If you love simple lace, then this DIY cup cozy crochet pattern might just be what you’re looking for. It is worked up in simple stitches but arranged in a pretty way to give you a simple, yet nice lace. It’s simple and pretty and makes for a nice gift idea for a mom or a girlfriend.

The crochet cup cozy works up quickly and can even be made with scrap yarn. Not only is it the perfect pattern to help you clean up some yarn, but it also helps to keep the environment cleaner by reducing waste.

The Size

It fits the average take-out coffee cup. And although you could use it on the small cup as well, I prefer this one for the large cup only simply because of the amount of stretch. The larger cups tend to have a bit of a wider top making it less risky for the cup to slide through.

The pattern is a multiple of six for the stitch count, so finding that happy medium between the cup sizes is a bit more challenging.

The Yarn

For this crochet cup cozy pattern, I used a thinner yarn called 24/7 Cotton by Lion Brand. Although thinner, it is still considered a worsted-weight yarn. It works well with a 4mm crochet hook to give you smaller stitches for a pretty lace.

The Stitch Pattern

This crochet cup cozy is worked up using basic stitches such as the single and double crochet along with the chain spaces. Multiple stitches are worked into the chain spaces to give you one round of simple lace.

Please note that this pattern is turned after each round is complete.
