Jacob’s Ladder Dish Cloth
This crochet dishcloth pattern features a pretty cabled-like look. It offers a nice textured fabric to make your dish-scrubbing a bit easier. You could crochet this up for gift ideas, sale items for craft shows as well as for your own home.
Not only do you get a nice texture, but it is durable as well.
I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarn, but any similar yarn will work just as well to make this.
If you’re familiar with the Jacob”s Ladder crochet technique then you will find this crochet dishcloth pattern easy to crochet. It is simply made with double crochets and loops made by chaining. Then the chains are looped together to create a braided look.

Abbreviations
- Ch = Chain
- Dc = Double Crochet
- Fptr = Front Post Triple Crochet

- RS = Right Side

Instructions
- Ch 29,
- Row 1: (RS) Dc in 3 ch from hook, dc in next 4 chs, *ch 6, sk next 6 chs, dc in next 5 chs. Repeat from * once. Turn.
- Rows 2-9: Ch 2, dc in first 5 sts, *ch 6, sk lp, dc in next 5 sts. Repeat from * once. Turn. Fasten off after row 9.
- With right side of work facing, pull up the loops starting at the bottom to create the Jacob's Ladder. Place stitch marker in top loop.
- Edging: With right side of work facing, attach yarn to top right corner. Ch 3, (counts as first dc), work another 3 dc in same corner st, dc in next 4 sts, (sl st into top Jacob's Ladder loop, dc in next 5 sts,) twice, *work another 3 dc in last corner st made, work 17 dc evenly along side,* 4 dc in corner st, dc in next 4 sts, (fptr around next 2 loops, dc in next 5 sts), twice, repeat from * to * once. Join with sl st to first dc. Fasten off.
