Bullion Stitch Crochet Hair Scrunchie – Pattern Instructions

The hair scrunchie pattern is started by working double crochets and chain 2 spaces around an elastic. The next round is worked with a single crochet in one double crochet and a fan of bullions in the next double crochet. Then a final round of single crochets to finish it off.

  • Yarn: Cotton Fair by Premier Yarns (Fine, #2; 52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317yds/290m; 3.5oz./100g) 1 ball
  • Crochet Hook: E 3.50mm
  • Other: 1 Goody Hair elastic
  • Tools: Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Finished Size

It is shown worked around a 6″ diameter hair scrunchie. However, if you are working with a different-sized elastic or if you need to adjust the fullness, you can do so in a multiple of two for the double crochets in the first round.

Crochet Hair Scrunchie Pattern Instructions

Rnd 1: Join yarn to elastic with a stdc, ch 2, (dc around elastic, ch 2) 59 times; join with sl st in first sc. [60 dc]

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as join, (bullion st, ch 1) 5 times into next dc, *sc in next dc, (bullion st, ch 1) 5 times into next dc; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc. [30 sc and 150 bullion sts]

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten Off. [330 sts]
