  • Crochet Hook: 3mm.

Measurements

  • Gauge: 17 hdc sts = 4″
  • Finished Size: 48″ across the widest edge by 22″ from the widest edge down to the bottom point.

Crochet Abbreviations

  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • V-St = V Stitch

Special Stitch Instructions

V-Stitch (v-st): 2 hdc in same ch, st or sp. When you work a v-st into another v-st, work the v-st in between the 2 hdc that make up the v-st. Stitch Tutorial

Crochet Asymmetrical Shawl Pattern Instructions

Row 1: Ch 2, 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook. Turn. [2 hdc]

Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first hdc, v-st in last hdc. Turn. [1 hdc and 1 v-st]

Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc, now and throughout pattern), v-st into first v-st; hdc in last hdc. Turn. [2 hdc and 1 v-st]

Row 4: Ch 1, hdc in first hdc, v-st in next v-st; v-st in last hdc (top of ch-2). Turn. [1 hdc and 2 v-sts]

Row 5: Ch 2, v-st into first v-st and into each v-st across; hdc in last hdc. Turn. [2 hdc and 2 v-sts]

Row 6: Ch 1, hdc in first hdc, v-st in next v-st and into each v-st across.; v-st in last hdc (top of ch-2). Turn. [1 hdc and 3 v-sts]

Rows 7-134: Repeat Rows 5 and 6 until you have reached the size you want. Fasten Off.
