Puffy Edge Crochet Hair Scrunchie

A little lace and a little bit of texture are what make the puffy edge crochet hair scrunchie stand apart from the rest. Puff stitches take up a lot of yarn, but with a light yarn, as used here, the finished scrunchie still features a nice fluffy look without being weighed down.

The crochet scrunchie is the perfect accessory for summer hairdos to keep your hair out of your face. You can work on it at the last minute, or make a bunch to have them ready.

Crochet Hair Scrunchie Pattern Instructions

The scrunchie is started with double crochets and chain 2 spaces in the first round around the elastic. Then half doubles for the next round, followed by a round with single crochets and puff stitches to finish things off.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Materials

  • Yarn: Cotton Fair by Premier Yarns (Fine, #2; 52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317yds/290m; 3.5oz./100g) 1 ball
  • Crochet Hook: E 3.50mm
  • Other: 1 Goody Hair elastic
  • Tools: Scissors, Yarn Needle.

I worked mine around a 6″ circumference hair elastic, but there is no stitch multiple, so you can choose any size you like and fill it up to your liking.

I used Cotton Fair yarn as it is lightweight and perfect for adding details to projects like this. You can use any similar yarn to get similar results as this.
