I don’t know why, but summer always makes me want to read more than any other season. Perhaps it’s because it’s often too hot to crochet, which then leaves me with a book in hand to help pass the time. Plus, reading is a great way to pass the time while tanning at the beach or while relaxing in your back yard.

And so I present you with my first crochet bookmark pattern to help you keep your place during your summer readings. The bookmark works up rather quickly, thus allowing you to crochet a few for yourself and a few for your children.

The crochet bookmark pattern is given in one size with a stitch multiple that allows you to crochet this to any length that you want. Technically speaking, that would also mean that you could use any yarn and hook size; however, I would not recommend a much thicker material because the bookmark will get too thick due to the puff stitches.
