Textured Baby Blanket – Crossed Puffs with SC Eyelets
Today we have another baby blanket crochet pattern that you can customize in many ways to make it yours! Everything from size, color, yarn, and hook size can easily be changed up as needed.
A size chart is included to make it easy for you to make it any size you need. Thus, it is a great gift idea for everyone in your family, including both genders.
If you plan on making this textured crochet baby blanket pattern for your next baby shower you can match it up with other baby items to make it even more special. A pair of baby booties, a baby hat, or even a baby sweater are just a few ideas for making a set.
Customize the Size
The finished measurement is approximately 36 by 36 inches square. In a multiple of 2 + 1 for the starting chains, you can adjust the size to any width you need from a small preemie blanket to a full-sized blanket for your bed.
Choose Your Yarn
If making a baby blanket, choose a soft yarn suitable for babies. I chose Bernat Baby Sport, which comes in large balls and is baby-friendly, economical, and also easy to care for. It is a popular yarn and is available in most yarn stores.
I had two balls of white and used only a small amount from the second ball. If you have more than one color on hand, this blanket pattern can easily be worked in pretty stripes or blocks of colors.

The Stitch Pattern
I used a cross stitch variation in between rows of single crochet stitches and single crochet eyelets. It is somewhat similar to the vine street crochet baby blanket, except the cross stitch is worked with a half double crochet and a puff stitch. Plus, we the eyelets in this pattern to give it a slightly more of a lacy texture.
Unfortunately, there is a slant in the stitch pattern, but you can steam block that out if you want. Just use a low setting so that you don’t ruin the yarn.
