Two Together Crochet Hair Scrunchie

This crochet hair scrunchie pattern is perfect for all hair types to hold your hair back and to accessorize. It is easy to crochet and will do the job if you like to wear your ponytails high or low or in pigtails.

I added one lonely stripe of green, but when worked into a ruffled design such as this scrunchie you get a beautiful two-toned color design! It’s a very simple stitch pattern, but it will have you making one after the other!

This hair scrunchie crochet pattern is just what you need to clean up the smallest amounts of scrap yarn. It works up quick and makes for a nice item to sell at craft fairs or to gift any time of the year.

The Size

I used a 6″ circumference hair elastic, but any circumference will work. Simply crochet around a scrunchie to make it nice and full and then follow the pattern.

The stitch multiple is a multiple of two. But, no need to worry about it because the third round will automatically result in a multiple two regardless of how many stitches you work around the elastic.

The Yarn

To keep the scrunchie from getting overly big you will need a fine #2 yarn. I used a cotton/acrylic blend, but either one or the other will work as long as you stick with the same brand throughout the scrunchie.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitches are simple, with single crochets around the scrunchie. The open stitch is simply the half double with chain spaces, followed by another round of single crochets.

Then for the color contrast, a round of single crochet decreases (sc2tog) and chain 1 spaces.

Lastly, switching back to the first color, a round of single crochets completes the scrunchie.
