3″ Open Center Quick Granny Square

I used Patons Canadiana for this quick crochet afghan square. It is a medium worsted weight yarn and workers well with a 5mm crochet hook size.
However, any yarn and crochet hook can be used to make this.
Choose a single color as shown, or use two colors, one for each round.

Instructions
- Rnd 1: Ch 7, [(tr, ch 2) in first ch] 7 times; join with sl st in 5th ch (4th ch visible from bottom so that you have a ch-2 sp). (8 ch-2 sps)
- Rnd 2: Sl st into first sp, ch 3 (Counts as first st), work 6 dc into same sp, 2 dc in next sp, *7 dc in next sp, 2 dc in next sp; rep from * around. Join with sl st in first dc. Fasten Off. (36 sts)
