Small Toy Hammock
Organize your child’s small toys with this nifty crochet toy hammock. It works up quickly and easily and makes for a great stashbuster pattern for leftover yarn. Or, make it as a baby shower gift along with some cute stuffies.
As you can see, I tied mine to the end of the Pack ‘n Play, but it’ll work just as well under a shelf, in a corner or anywhere else you like. It’s a great way to teach your kids to keep his/her toys organized
The toy storage hammock is not just great for stuffies, but it can be used to store all kinds of toys and kid’s accessories.
It is a simple design, perfect for beginners and seasoned crocheters.
Finished Size
The finished measurements are approximately 21″ by 13″. It seems small, but it will stretch out a bit once you start filling it with toys.
The pattern is given in one size, but in a simple multiple of two, you can crochet this to any length that you need.
The Yarn
Red Heart Super Saver yarn is the perfect yarn for this free crochet pattern! It is not only durable, but it washes well, and is readily available at most yarn stores.
With that said, cotton yarn would work just as well!

- Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (Worsted Weight (#4) 100% acrylic, 7 oz/198g – 364 yds/333m)
- Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
- Tools: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.
Measurements
- Gauge: 3" over 13 sts and 4 rows.
- Finished Dimensions: 21" by 13", but it will stretch once you put the toys in.

- Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
- Rep = Repeat
- Sc = Single Crochet
- Sk = Skip

Instructions
- Ch 90 (or any multiple of 2),
- Row 1: Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Turn. [89 sts]
- Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as first tr and ch-1 sp, now and throughout), *sk next st, (tr, ch 1) in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts, tr in last st. Turn. [44 ch-1 sps]
- Row 3: Ch 5, *sk ch-1 sp, (tr, ch 1) in next st; rep from * across to last st, tr in last st. Turn. [44 ch-1 sps]
- Rows 4-18: Rep row 3.
- Row 19: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch across. [89 sts] Fasten Off.
- Strings (Make 2):
- Ch 120, sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Fasten Off.
- Weave the strings in through the ch-1 sps at the sides as pictured. Scrunch the ends up to create a hammock and tie to the Pack 'n Play, a shelf or anywhere else you see fit.
