Striped Crochet Baby Blanket – Groovy
This striped crochet baby blanket pattern is not only easy to crochet, but also easy to customize in size and color design. It features a unique ribbed design for texture and added warmth.
I did a unique color design with four rows of one color followed by two rows of the next color. It turned out rather nicely, but the stitch pattern makes it easy to experiment with a variety of color combinations and other striped designs.
As for color choices, I did blue and white for a boy blanket, but substitute blue with pink or purple for a girl, or gray for a neutral color.

Striped Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern Information
The groovy preemie baby blanket crochet pattern is worked in single crochets and chain one spaces. The neat grooves, or ribbed texture, are created simply by working the single crochet stitches into the back loop only.
While it creates a beautiful ribbed texture, I find the edges tend to expand more than the middle part of the blanket. To even it out, you can block it gently with a fabric steamer.
Another beautifully striped baby blanket is the crunch stitch crochet baby blanket. You might also enjoy the pretty simple crochet baby blanket or this clustered v-stitch crochet preemie blanket.
