Adelaide Crochet Cup Cozy Pattern

The Adelaide crochet cup cozy pattern features a nice solid texture, which makes it ideal for hot beverages. It works up quickly with only a small amount of yarn, making it a great pattern to clean up all those odds and ends.

Work it up in a solid color as shown, or use up the smallest amounts of scraps for a colorful crochet cup cozy.

Not only is this a great way to clean up your yarn stash, but it is also a great gift idea for friends and family. It’s handy to keep in your car or purse so you’ll never have to burn your hands again.

The Size

The finished size is designed to fit a standard coffee cup. It works great with all sizes, but can be adjusted if needed in a simple multiple of two.

The Yarn

I used leftover yarn from a cone of Lily Sugar N Cream.

Choose any other worsted weight cotton yarn that you like, such as Bernat Handicrafter. The cotton will not only protect against heat, but it is also effective at catching any drips that might occur.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch pattern is super simple! If you can make the single crochet and the extended single crochet along with knowledge of the cross stitch, then you can make this!. And for those not familiar with the stitches, as longs the basics are mastered, this will be easy to learn.

One row is worked with simple single crochets, while the next is worked with the extended single crochet cross stitch. It is a nice combination that gives you a nice texture on both sides of the fabric. It’s nice and solid, making it perfect for a cup cozy.
