Crochet Coaster, Dishcloth, and Placemat Set – Pretty Simple

Crochet this dishcloth, placemat, and coaster set to match your kitchen and dining room decor. It is also easy to use seasonal colors and reuse them year after year for your favorite celebrations.

I added some simple stripes, but the pretty texture of the stitch looks great in a solid color too.

Another idea would be to use up leftover yarn and make each placemat and coaster set unique. Or personalize the placemat and coaster for each family member so they have their favorite colors in front of them as they enjoy their favorite meals.

Special Stitch Instructions

V-Stitch (v-st): 2 hdc in same ch or st. When you work a v-st into another v-st, work the v-st in between the 2 hdc that make up the v-st.

To Change Color

Work the last stitch in the previous row as normal until the last step and you have three loops left on the hook; drop the old color, pick up the new color, and draw through all loops to complete the stitch.

Drop the old color. Carry the unused color up at each row, or fasten it off.

Instructions are given for the coaster, with special instructions for the dishcloth and placemat in parentheses.
