I used Red Heart Comfort yarn to make this easy eye mask. It is an aran-weight acrylic yarn. Any similar yarn should work just as well, especially cotton yarn.

Skill Level

Materials

  • Yarn: Red Heart Comfort
  • Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00 mm
  • Tools: Scissors, Stitch Marker, Yarn Needle.

Abbreviations

Notes

  • This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. To keep track of each round place a stitch marker either at the last stitch of each round.
  • This pattern is written in American Crochet Terms

Instructions

  • Make Two.
  • Make a Magic Circle.
  • Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 8 sc into magic circle, pull tight, but do not join.
  • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (16 sc)
  • Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around. (24 sc)
  • Rnd 4: *Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around. (32 sc)
  • Rnd 5: Sc in next 2 sts, sk next st, 5 hdc in next st, *sk next st, sc in next st, sk next st, 5 hdc in next st; repeat from * around.
  • String: Sk next st, sl st into next st, ch 45, working in back bumps, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch, join with sl st to corresponding sc. Fasten off.

Attaching the two pieces:

  • Take one eye piece and join yarn to sc on opposite side of string, ch 1, sl st into corresponding sc on second eye piece, ch 1, sl st into same sc as where you joined the yarn on the first eye piece.
