Chains n Shells Cup Cozy

This crochet cup cozy pattern can be used on a takeout cup or as a glass cozy. The lace is simple, yet elegant enough to gift to all your special friends.

While there are large open holes in this crochet cozy, it still has enough solid fabric to protect your hands from high temperatures. With that said, perhaps it might not be the cozy to keep in your car, but it certainly can be what you need while on walks, or while at home or the office.

There are two versions of this cozy, one that goes all the way from the bottom of the cup to the top, and the other is just a small sleeve.

The sleeve is not intended for a glass as it might slip through. A takeout cup on the other hand has a wider opening at the top, thus making it safe.

The Size

The finished size fits a standard-sized takeout cup or a glass. The sleeve can be used on all heights, whereas the cozy is taller and perfect for medium and large-size cups.

The Yarn

Use a cotton to make it sturdier and more heat absorbent. I used Bernat Handicrafter cotton, but any similar yarn can be used.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch used is very simple with only single crochets, chains and double crochets. The double crochets are worked in a shell stitch, which combined with the chain stitches make up a pretty lace pattern.
